CINCINNATI (WXIX) – A wintry mix of rain, freezing rain, sleet, and snow will impact your Monday morning commute, making it a FOX19 NOW First Alert Weather Day.
A winter weather advisory is in effect for the entire Tri-State from 11 a.m. Monday.
Total snow and sleet accumulations for most are expected to be up to an inch and possibly up to 2 inches north of Cincinnati.
Ice accumulations could reach a tenth of an inch.
TIMELINE
Snow is expected to arrive between 4 a.m. and 5 a.m as temperatures drop into the low 30s.
Freezing rain and sleet will follow between 7 a.m. and 8 a.m.
Northern Kentucky could especially see a glazing of ice.
Be sure to watch for slick spots as you head out, especially on bridges and overpasses.
Areas with untreated roads will be slick regardless of how much snow falls.
Rain arrives
Rain is expected for most areas after 1 p.m. as highs rise into the upper 30s.
Showers will continue Monday night before patchy fog sets in overnight.
The low will fall to 36 degrees.
Wet week
More widespread rain will continue on Tuesday morning through the evening, with patchy fog for the morning commute that could last to lunchtime.
The high will soar to nearly 60 degrees.
More of the same is coming Wednesday, with thunderstorms also possible after 4 p.m.
Otherwise, it will be cloudy with a high near 68.
Rain or chances of rain are in the forecast through Sunday.
Some areas could see up to 4 inches by then.
Temperatures will remain mild for this time of year.
