Grading the top deals of free agency

2024 team: Minnesota Vikings | Age entering 2025 season: 29
At 6-foot-6 and 335 pounds, Robinson has the ideal size, length and traits for the tackle position. Technical lapses have prevented him from playing at a consistent level, and his 88.2% pass block win rate last season was below average. But with the ability to engulf rushers at the point of attack and the foot speed to redirect, Robinson has the desired tools.

2024 team: Buffalo Bills | Age entering 2025 season: 30
Douglas is a physical corner with the length to disrupt the ball and the willingness to set an edge against the run (five tackles for loss last season). He’s an easy fit in a zone system that allows him to reroute underneath and attack the ball from the outside third of the field. Douglas returned one of his five interceptions for a touchdown in 2023, and he had five pass breakups last season.

2024 team: Houston Texans | Age entering 2025 season: 31
An ACL injury limited Diggs to eight games last season. His play speed is also starting to slip. But Diggs is a quality route runner who, once heathy and cleared to play next season, can create separation and produce after the catch. Diggs had 47 receptions for 496 yards last season, and he has 70 touchdowns in his 10 years in the NFL.

2024 team: Buffalo Bills | Age entering 2025 season: 31
Cooper’s tape is beginning to show signs of decline, but he is still a detailed route runner who can uncover at multiple levels of the field. In 14 games with the Browns and Bills last season, Cooper caught 44 passes for 547 yards and four touchdowns. In nine full seasons, he has topped the 1,000-yard receiving mark seven times and caught 64 career touchdown passes.

2024 team: Los Angeles Chargers | Age entering 2025 season: 25
Samuel has a playmaking mentality at cornerback, with the foot quickness and sudden closing speed to break on the ball. A shoulder injury limited Samuel to four games last season, but he has six interceptions and 26 pass breakups in his four years with the Chargers.

2024 team: Cincinnati Bengals | Age entering 2025 season: 31
A slot corner who plays with a sense of urgency, Hilton had 12 tackles for loss and eight pressures last season. He has a natural feel for playing in space as a coverage defender with the aggressive mentality to tackle and blitz on the edges. In eight seasons, Hilton has 13 interceptions, 11.5 sacks and 34 pass breakups.

2024 team: Chicago Bears | Age entering 2025 season: 27
Jenkins has played in only 38 of a possible 68 career games. Drafted as a tackle, Jenkins has the tools to drive defenders off the ball in the run game. But he tends to be more segmented as a mover in pass protection.

2024 team: Pittsburgh Steelers | Age entering 2025 season: 36
In 11 starts for the Steelers, Wilson completed 63.7% of his throws for 2,482 yards and 16 touchdowns, registering a QBR of 51.4 (22nd). He can still throw with pace and touch downfield, and he would benefit from a system that’s heavy in play-action. But with his reduced mobility, Wilson isn’t a creator outside of structure at this stage of his career.

Stephen A.: Aaron Rodgers has more to prove than Russell Wilson
Stephen A. Smith breaks down why he thinks Aaron Rodgers has more to prove than Russell Wilson because of his elite status within the league.

2024 team: New York Jets | Age entering 2025 season: 41
The arm talent is still there with Rodgers, and he can dissect coverages quickly because of his accelerated vision. But with diminished mobility and declining pocket poise, Rodgers can’t extend or create on second-reaction plays at a consistent rate. In 2024 with the Jets, Rodgers threw 28 touchdown passes and 11 interceptions, and his QBR of 48.0 ranked 25th in the league.

2024 team: Los Angeles Chargers | Age entering 2025 season: 26
After tearing an Achilles in Week 1 of 2023, Dobbins looked explosive on the tape throughout last season, though he missed four games because of a knee sprain. Dobbins, who had 27 carries of 10 or more yards, finished 2024 with 907 rushing yards and seven touchdowns. He can run between the tackles, and he has the juice to create big plays.

2024 team: Chicago Bears | Age entering 2025 season: 33
Allen caught 70 passes in Chicago, with seven touchdowns. He isn’t as dynamic of a mover at this late stage of his career, but the veteran is a crafty route runner who can make himself available to the quarterback. He fits as a chain-moving No. 3 receiver, which is the role he played for the Bears last season.

2024 team: Jacksonville Jaguars | Age entering 2025 season: 33
Scherff’s game should age gracefully given his movement skills and the ability to displace defenders at the point of attack. The 2015 top-five pick had a pass block win rate of 93.8% last year, which ranked 14th among guards and was the second highest of his 10 NFL seasons. Scherff can help a team in a need of a quality starter on the interior.

2024 team: New York Giants | Age entering 2025 season: 25
Injuries have limited Ojulari to 29 games over the past three seasons, but he has the length (34.5-inch arms) and burst to run the arc as a pass rusher. In 11 games last season, he had six sacks and 16 QB pressures. When healthy, he’s a 3-4 outside linebacker who can be a rotational edge in sub packages.

2024 team: Miami Dolphins | Age entering 2025 season: 39
Campbell has played in 261 regular-season NFL games, and he’s still setting edges and hitting the quarterback with his 6-8 frame. He has at least five sacks in each of the past three seasons, and he can play in multiple fronts due to his size and strength. Campbell would also add a veteran presence to a locker room.

2024 team: Detroit Lions | Age entering 2025 season: 32
Last season — with both the Browns and Lions — Smith had nine sacks and 38 pressures. He’s a speed-to-power rusher who can also align as a standup nose or 3-technique to get interior one-on-ones. Smith could help a contender looking for a rotational edge with scheme versatility.

2024 team: Minnesota Vikings | Age entering 2025 season: 30
Bradbury offsets his undersized frame (6-foot-3, 306 pounds) with great footwork and body control, allowing him to climb in the run game and handle multiple pass-rush paths on the interior. In 2024, Bradbury had a pass block win rate of 94.0%, which ranked 19th among centers. He struggled at times to handle power. But still a capable starter, Bradbury could help a team looking for reinforcements in the middle of its front.

2024 team: Atlanta Falcons | Age entering 2025 season: 33
Judon had 15.5 sacks in 2022, but the tape shows a player who is starting to decline. He had 5.5 sacks last season, his first year with Atlanta. He’s a savvy pass rusher with counters and the occasional speed-to-power rush, but he’s not likely to be an every-down player in 2025.

2024 team: Indianapolis Colts | Age entering 2025 season: 30
Speed’s 9.5 tackles per game ranked fourth in the NFL last season, and he also had seven tackles for loss. He can clean up from the weak side, using his downhill quickness to create angles to the ball. Plus, he has played in at least 15 games for five straight seasons. He’s an accountable pro.

2024 team: Cleveland Browns | Age entering 2025 season: 26
Injuries have impacted Wills’ development, as he has played in 13 games over the past two seasons. He was also benched in 2024 for sitting out a game because of a «business decision.» But the 2020 top-10 pick has a career pass block win rate of 92.0% — which is above league average — and he could be viewed as a reclamation project, given his lower-body quickness and movement ability.

2024 team: Houston Texans | Age entering 2025 season: 29
Johnson’s 2024 season went off the rails after he was traded from the Panthers, which led to disappointing stops with the Ravens and Texans. When dialed in, however, he has inside/outside flexibility with the speed to separate against press coverage. He can also tack on numbers after the catch. With Pittsburgh in 2023, he had 51 catches for 717 yards and five touchdowns. (He had 33 catches for 375 yards and three TDs in 2024.)

2024 team: Atlanta Falcons | Age entering 2025 season: 31
Simmons, an excellent communicator in the secondary, had two interceptions last season, and he has 32 in his career. I see his best fit as a veteran addition for a split-safety defense.

2024 team: Indianapolis Colts | Age entering 2025 season: 27
Blackmon had three interceptions in 2024, and he has seven over the past two seasons. There’s post and deep-half range on his tape, which fits in every system. He also has 85-plus tackles in each of the past two seasons.

2024 team: Cleveland Browns | Age entering 2025 season: 31
Winston should be graded as a high-level No. 2. He started seven games last season, putting up a QBR of 55.6 (19th in the league) while throwing 13 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. Winston has the arm talent to make plays, but his decision-making leads to questionable throws.

2024 team: Arizona Cardinals | Age entering 2025 season: 29
White is an off-ball linebacker with run-and-hit traits, and he had nine tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks last season. He has the pursuit speed to track the ball on the edges, and he has six interceptions, along with 16 pass breakups, in his career. White can be a three-down player for his new team.

2024 team: Kansas City Chiefs | Age entering 2025 season: 28
Omenihu played in just six regular-season games after recovering from a torn ACL in the 2023 AFC Championship Game. He’s a long edge rusher with previous production (seven sacks in 2023) and could be viewed as a boom-or-bust signing based on his traits.

2024 team: Philadelphia Eagles | Age entering 2025 season: 28
Johnson started six games for the Eagles, playing 463 regular-season snaps. His pass block win rate (86.7%) was below average, but he can provide competition and depth at the tackle spot. With a 6-7, 326-pound frame, Johnson can use his length to overcome his limited foot quickness.

2024 team: Seattle Seahawks | Age entering 2025 season: 32
An accountable pro, Lockett has played in at least 15 games in each of his 10 seasons with the Seahawks. Though his speed has regressed on tape, Lockett can still set up coverage and make himself available to the quarterback at multiple levels of the field. He fits as a veteran No. 3 option.

Seahawks release WR Tyler Lockett
Take a look at some of the numbers behind Tyler Lockett’s release from the Seahawks.

2024 team: New York Jets | Age entering 2025 season: 34
Smith appeared in only 10 games last season, and his level of play is starting to diminish. The 6-5, 320-pound tackle had an 83.0% pass block win rate in 2024, which was below league average. There are still Hall of Fame flashes from the veteran, though, and he could get another one-year deal this offseason.

2024 team: Arizona Cardinals | Age entering 2025 season: 30
A knee injury cut Hernandez’s 2024 season short after just five games. The veteran guard had a pass block win rate over 94% in each of the past three seasons, and he’s a physical run blocker. His footwork on contact and his power pop on tape. At age 30, he could still be a starter.

2024 team: Los Angeles Rams | Age entering 2025 season: 30
Witherspoon had four interceptions and 14 pass breakups over two seasons in L.A. He lacks the top-end speed to match vertically at a consistent rate in man coverage, but he can use his 6-2 frame to drive downhill on the ball in zone schemes.

2024 team: Buffalo Bills | Age entering 2025 season: 36
We still see flashes of Miller’s ability to win one-on-ones off the edge due to his various pass-rush plans. But with his lower-body quickness fading at this stage of his career, Miller can’t run the arc at full throttle. He has a total of 129.5 sacks over his career, but he had just 6.0 in 2024. After Buffalo released him, teams can target him in free agency as a rotational edge for clear passing situations.
