February is all about returning TV shows. The shortest month of the year is relatively light on new releases, but new seasons of familiar favorites like Bridgerton, Paradise, and Dark Winds (which aired the best TV episode of 2025, if you haven’t heard) should keep you warm on these cold days. Even one of the «new» notable premieres isn’t technically new: Scrubs, which aired from 2001 to 2010, is returning for a revival.

And if none of that intrigues you, Peacock will bring us all together with the power of sports. This month, the platform will stream events like the Milano Cortina Winter Olympic Games, Super Bowl LX, and NBA All-Star Weekend.

Our guide to the best TV and streaming movies in February is divided into three sections: the best shows to watch this month, the best shows to watch by streaming service, and a calendar of TV highlights. Whatever you’re looking for, you’ll find it below.

The best shows to watch in February

Cross Season 2 (Feb. 11, Prime Video)

Aldis Hodge’s Detective Alex Cross is back. Cross, which brings the James Patterson character to TV, fits squarely into Prime Video’s brand as the go-to home for book-to-streaming adaptations about intelligent tough guys (see also: Reacher, Jack Ryan, Bosch). And while we had some reservations about Season 1, Cross couldn’t ask for a better lead than Hodge. Details on the plot of the second season are vague — Cross is «in pursuit of a ruthless vigilante who is hunting down corrupt billionaire magnates» — but the cast is adding some exciting names, including Matthew Lillard. We’re hoping to see this show level up in Season 2. –Kelly Connolly [Teaser]

Dark Winds Season 4 (Feb. 15, AMC)

It’s time for AMC’s excellent, underrated Western noir to get the attention it deserves. Dark Winds (which is currently available to stream on both Netflix and AMC+, for the uninitiated) stars the great Zahn McClarnon as Joe Leaphorn, a Navajo Tribal Police officer investigating twisted cases in the 1970s. In Season 4, Leaphorn, Chee (Kiowa Gordon), and Bernadette (Jessica Matten) head to Los Angeles in search of a missing Navajo girl, leading to a race against the clock to save her from a killer. Chaske Spencer, Franka Potente, Isabel DeRoy-Olson, and Titus Welliver join the cast, and McClarnon makes his directorial debut. What could be better? –Kelly Connolly [Teaser]

56 Days (Feb. 18, Prime Video)

Nothing says Valentine’s Day is over like an erotic thriller about a whirlwind romance gone wrong. In 56 Days, Ciara (Dove Cameron) and Oliver (Avan Jogia) fall hard for each other after meeting in a supermarket, but when an unidentified body turns up at Oliver’s apartment 56 days later, the cops are left to get to the truth of who’s dead and who’s to blame. The series, which jumps between the murder investigation and the couple’s intense relationship, is based on Catherine Ryan Howard’s novel of the same name, but it moves the action from COVID lockdown-era Dublin to present-day Boston. –Kelly Connolly [Trailer]

The Night Agent Season 3 (Feb. 19, Netflix)

Season 2 of Shawn Ryan’s drama didn’t hit like the wildly successful first season, but The Night Agent still got the job done as a watchable espionage thriller about outlandish conspiracies involving shadowy men pulling the strings that manipulate the world. This season will mark a huge change for the series because hero Peter Sutherland (Gabriel Basso) will be without his partner and romantic interest, Rose (Luciane Buchanan), for the first time as they went their separate ways after Season 2. But this being the second season of original storytelling from Ryan — Season 1 was based on a book — the threads that were pulled in Season 2 involving the enigmatic Jacob Monroe (Louis Herthum) and a questionable U.S. presidential election will carry over into something even more vast. –Tim Surette [Trailer] [Everything to know about The Night Agent Season 3]

Paradise Season 2 (Feb. 23, Hulu)

Paradise isn’t looking much like paradise anymore. In Season 2, Dan Fogelman’s post-apocalyptic thriller goes beyond the bunker and heads above ground to explore the aftermath of the end of the world. As Sterling K. Brown’s Xavier Collins searches for the wife he thought he’d lost, the show will introduce new survivors, including one played by Shailene Woodley, and flash back to their lives before disaster struck. But Paradise hasn’t forgotten about our friends and enemies from the bunker, either — even Julianne Nicholson’s Sinatra is back, and so are her many secrets. –Kelly Connolly [Teaser] [Everything to know about Paradise Season 2]

Scrubs (Feb. 25, ABC)

This isn’t just one of J.D.’s fantasies — Scrubs really is coming back. The hospital comedy, which aired from 2001 to 2010 on NBC and ABC, is returning to ABC for a revival that promises to reunite plenty of the original Sacred Heart gang. The new season finds J.D. (Zach Braff) and Turk (Donald Faison) scrubbing in together «for the first time in a long time,» per Deadline, while confronting changes in medicine and in their own lives and dealing with a new class of interns. Sarah Chalke, who plays Elliot, is also a series regular, and Judy Reyes and John C. McGinley, as Carla and Dr. Cox, respectively, are on board as recurring guest stars. Officially, there’s been no word on whether the Janitor (Neil Flynn) and Dr. Kelso (Ken Jenkins) will make appearances, but here’s hoping. The revival premieres on Hulu the day after its ABC debut. –Kelly Connolly

Bridgerton Season 4 Part 2 (Feb. 26, Netflix)

Everything changes for Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson) when he meets Sophie Baek (Yerin Ha) at his mother’s (Ruth Gemmell) masquerade ball. There’s a catch, though. Sophie, who has spent much of her life working as a maid, went to the ball in disguise. Her romance with Benedict unfolds as he searches for the identity of the «Lady in Silver» in Season 4 of Bridgerton, which is based on Julia Quinn’s novel An Offer from a Gentleman. Like the third season of the hit period drama, Bridgerton Season 4 was divided in two parts of four episodes each, with Part 1 released on Jan. 29 and the final episodes out in late February. –Kat Moon [Trailer] [Everything to know about Bridgerton Season 4]

Netflix’s best new shows and movies in February

Despite new episodes of two of its most-watched shows ever, Netflix is looking pretty light in February as it recovers from the hubbub over the final season of Stranger Things. Season 3 of The Night Agent and Season 4 Part 2 of Bridgerton — along with Season 4 of The Lincoln Lawyer — are the month’s headliners, but they’re «gourmet cheeseburgers,» a phrase Netflix chief content officer Bela Bajaria used to reference mass appeal shows with a premium TV veneer. Instead, I will be focusing on the sports docuseries Glitter & Gold: Ice Dancing, a Winter Olympics warmup about the three sets of frontrunners performing in the games’ most subjective sport, and the 2016 comedy Search Party, a hidden gem that playfully smacks around millennial malaise. Also of note is Eddie Vedder’s Matter of Time, a film about the Pearl Jam frontman’s charitable concerts to raise money to find a cure for epidermolysis bullosa; a new season of the popular reality dating series Love Is Blind; and Season 8 of the F1 series Drive to Survive. Here’s our list of the best shows and movies on Netflix in February, plus everything coming to and leaving Netflix in February.

HBO Max’s best new shows and movies in February

After a January packed with big premieres — The Pitt Season 2, Industry Season 4, and the Game of Thrones prequel A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms — HBO is slowing down in February. The biggest TV premiere is a new season of Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, but we’re also keeping our eye on Neighbors, an enigmatic new series executive produced by Marty Supreme director Josh Safdie. On the movies end, Emma Thompson is venturing into the dead of winter in the seasonally appropriate thriller Dead of Winter. If you’re looking for something a little lighter, maybe check out the animated coming-of-age film Boys Go to Jupiter, which features the voices of Cole Escola, Julio Torres, Eva Victor, and more. Look, it’s a light month, but at least there are new episodes of The Pitt every week. Here’s our list of the best shows and movies on HBO Max in February, plus everything coming to HBO Max in February.

Who says the shortest month of the year can’t be exciting? Hulu is keeping February thrilling with Season 2 of Paradise, the buzzy mystery box drama that took everyone by surprise when it premiered last year. (And let’s celebrate that quick turnaround between seasons.) The second season finds Paradise leaning into its Lost side, introducing new survivors and flashing back to uncover their pasts. If you’re missing the TV of the aughts, here’s more good news: Scrubs is back for a revival, which hits Hulu the day after its ABC premiere. Other highlights of Hulu’s February lineup include Season 2 of The Artful Dodger and every season of The Good Place. Peacock’s new shows and movies in February

Crazy weirdos in the neighborhood is the theme for Peacock in February, with two headlining TV shows involving people in close quarters with others behaving strangely. (Relatable for this father of a tween daughter.) Debuting on Feb. 8 is the new series The ‘Burbs, an adaptation of the 1989 Tom Hanks film about a newcomer (Keke Palmer) to a seemingly peaceful suburb who discovers the cul-de-sacs are harboring chilling secrets. Later in the month, Joel McHale hosts the third season of House of Villains, a Big Brother-style competition that brings some of reality TV’s most notorious villains together to live in a house, compete in challenges, and survive elimination for cash. Sports are going to be BIG for Peacock in the month, too. The first weekend of February will feature the start of the Milano Cortina Winter Olympic Games and Super Bowl LX, and on Feb. 15, the best of the NBA will gather in Los Angeles for the NBA All-Star Weekend festivities. Here’s our list of everything coming to Peacock in February.

Tubi’s new shows and movies in February

Tubi is having a mellow February, bringing a few television shows that most of us have already forgotten about onto its service. Leading the way is Marvel’s Runaways, one of several comic book adaptations that came about during the great superhero splurge when Marvel dominated pop culture. Also en route are Eva Longoria’s ABC drama Grand Hotel and Fox’s cop drama Gang Related. Not exactly a lineup that has you diving for the remote. On the film side, there’s the usual mix of blockbusters (Jurassic World and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom) and award winners (Call Me By Your Name and Selma), but I’d just rewatch The School of Rock if I were you. Here’s what’s coming to Tubi in February. Here’s our list of everything coming to Paramount+ in February.
