Un tornado confirmado por radar devastó casas en un vecindario del condado de Henry para el día de la tarde.

Sucedió el jueves por la tarde, justo después de las 3:30 p.m., en el vecindario de Laurel Creek, en el Parque Académico en Locust Grove. Los primeros en responder rápidamente llegaron para encontrar daños generalizados y un hogar nivelado por la tormenta.
Courtney, que vive justo detrás de una casa aplanada, recordó lo rápido que golpeó la tormenta sin previo aviso.
«Estaba parado en mi cocina y estaba lloviendo», dijo Courtney. «No había viento ni nada, y comencé a escuchar sonidos extraños como si el clima estuviera recogiendo. Miré por mi puerta corredera de vidrio y vi la rotación comenzar a girar prácticamente en mi patio trasero».
Sorprendido, Courtney corrió por seguridad.
«Simplemente corrí hacia el armario más cercano y me cubrí la cabeza», dijo. «Empecé a escuchar que las cosas golpearon la casa y solo rezando».
Minutos después, cuando el ruido se detuvo, se asomó afuera. Courtney dijo que el tornado aparentemente salió de la nada.
«Ni siquiera fue realmente asaltante, solo lloviendo y tranquilo. Literalmente giró aquí y salió de la nada. Estoy traumatizada», dijo.

«Vi la casa detrás de mí simplemente demolida por completo», dijo. «Mi corazón se hundió. Estoy muy agradecido de estar bien, y estoy rezando por nuestros vecinos. Estoy realmente sacudido».
El jefe de policía adjunto del condado de Henry, Jason Bolton, dijo que un padre y un hijo de la casa resultaron heridos.
«El joven de 18 años fue arrojado de la casa y está en estado crítico en Grady», dijo Bolton. «El padre tuvo heridas leves y fue llevado a Henry Piedmont».

Dijo que al menos 13 estructuras en todo el condado fueron dañadas, dijo Bolton.

Courtney dijo que se siente afortunada de haber sufrido solo daños menores.
