Throughout his many years as one of the world’s most famous actors, Tom Hanks has starred in some of the most famous WWII movies of all time. His WWII magnum opus came all the way back in 1998 when he teamed up with Steven Spielberg for Saving Private Ryan, the visceral and emotional war epic that’s still hailed to this day as one of the greatest movies of all time. A few years ago, Hanks reunited with Spielberg for Masters of the Air, a new WWII series streaming on Apple TV starring Callum Turner and Austin Butler. Hanks has another massive WWII submarine epic on Apple TV, Greyhound, which was first releasedin 2020. The demand for more Greyhound was so immense that Apple TV greenlit a sequel to the film, which is now in production.
Tom Hanks is set to return to the world of WWII projects later this month with a new documentary series, World War II with Tom Hanks. The show launches in the United States on May 25 on the History Channel, and it follows Hanks as he takes fans through the various eras and battles of World War II, from Germany’s invasion of Poland to D-Day, along with a look inside the war rooms of some of the most brilliant and strategic minds of the war. The first three episodes of the series will air at launch on May 25, and the show will reportedly have 20 episodes overall, with in-depth looks at some of the most important moments from the war. Hanks is an executive producer on the project, and he also narrates the events.

When Does Tom Hanks’ Next Movie Come Out?
Tom Hanks will return to his signature role as Woody this summer in Toy Story 5, which will be released in theaters on June 19. Toy Story 5 is the only Hanks-led movie with a release date on the calendar right now, but he has been tapped to star in a few intriguing projects in development. In addition to his Greyhound sequel that’s now shooting in Italy, Hanks will also star in Duke Johnson’s next movie, Lincoln in the Bardo, which is inspired by the novel of the same name by George Saunders. Alanah Bloor and Mary Birdsong will also have key roles in the film.
