Welcome to Wrestling Inc.’s live coverage of AAA Noche de Los Grandes, emanating from the Arena Monterrey in Monterrey, Mexico.

Tonight begins the first of two weekly events under the Noche de Los Grandes label, headlined by El Grande Americano (Ludwig Kaiser) versus the Original El Grande Americano (Chad Gable) in a Mask vs. Mask match. They will likely find themselves flanked by their Los Americanos, Pete Dunne and Tyler Bate, and Los Americanos Hermanos, Julius and Brutus Creed, respectively.

Elsewhere on the card, El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. will be defending the AAA Latin American Championship against El Hijo Del Vikingo, flanked by Dorian Roldan.

WWE’s the War Raiders will be challenging Pagano and Psycho Clown for the AAA World Tag Team Championship, and WWE’s Rey Fenix will be challenging Laredo Kid for the AAA Cruiserweight Championship.

AAA Noche de Los Grandes is scheduled to start at 10 PM ET, streaming live on FOX in Latin America, as well as WWE and AAA’s YouTube and Facebook channels.

AAA Cruiserweight Championship: Laredo Kid (C) vs. Rey Fenix

Rey Fenix and Laredo Kid in the ring – WWE

Rey Fenix rushes Laredo Kid from the starting bell with a dropkick, looking to set up for the Mexican Muscle Buster to no avail. Kid comes back with a Michinoku Driver for the two-count.

Kid stamps down on Fenix, placing a foot on his back as he wrenches at the leg. Now has a Texas Cloverleaf cinched in the middle of the ring. He drops the hold but manages to adjust. Fenix reaches the bottom rope but Kid continues to beat down on him.

Kid goes to the corner and removes the top turnbuckle pad. Fenix gets back into the match and sends Kid into the opposite corner, runs to follow him but Kid avoids it and looks for another Cloverleaf with Fenix tied up on the ropes.

Back in the middle of the ring, Kid goes for what looks like a surfboard stretch but opts to stomp the challenger back down to the ring. Kid continues to stalk and provoke his opponent, who then rallies back with a series of clotheslines before going to the top rope and taking Kid out on the outside. Back in the ring he connects with a crossbody from the top and goes for the cover for two.

Fenix locks in an armbar but Kid finds the bottom rope. Kid connects with a Destroyer DDT for another near-fall. Kid goes for a low-blow but Fenix catches the arm, comes back with a rolling cutter for a two-count.

Fenix connects with a superkick, goes for the cover for another two-count. Fenix picks Kid up and goes for the Muscle Buster, but Kid fights out of it, drops him with a Codebreaker and ascends the ropes. Fenix clocks him and connects with the Muscle Buster at last. Goes for the cover but Kid kicks out to keep his title reign intact.

Fenix gestures to the exposed buckle, the referee goes to the corner to prevent him, and Kid uses the distraction to hit a low blow and connect with a splash from the top rope. Goes for the cover but Fenix kicks out at two.

Fenix is in the exposed corner, Kid runs at him, Fenix sidesteps and Kid crashes into the steel. Fenix connects with one more Muscle Buster and makes the cover, one, two, and three – Rey Fenix is the new AAA Cruiserweight Champion.

AAA Latin American Championship: El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. (C) vs. El Hijo del Vikingo

El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. rushes El Hijo del Vikingo with a dropkick from the starting bell, makes two early covers to no avail.

The action is taken to the outside as Wagner Jr. pursues Vikingo, but Vikingo sends Wagner Jr. into the steel steps, ascending the top ropes and delivering a double foot stomp to the outside. He goes for the cover inside the ring but Wagner Jr. kicks out and rolls back to the outside of the ring.

Vikingo takes out Wagner Jr. with a baseball slide and connects with a running Shooting Star Press from the apron to the floor, goes back to the top rope inside the ring. But Wagner Jr. catches him on the way down with a superkick. Follows up with a step-up knee in the corner and goes to the top rope for a splash, hooks the leg but only for a two-count.

Vikingo reverses the momentum once more with a crucifix driver, leaving both down in the middle of he ring. From the entrance ramp, Omos is arriving to help Vikingo.

Dorian Roldan gets up on the apron to distract the referee so that Omos can yank him down from the top rope. Vikingo goes up and connects with a 450 Splash but only for a near-fall.

Galeno now runs down the ramp to attack Omos, but Omos shakes it off and sends him over the guard rail. Galeno comes back with a steel chair, battering Omos at ringside. Vikingo kicks Galeno and retreats behind the referee as Galeno tries to chase, allowing Mini Vikingo to emerge and connect with a missile dropkick to Vikingo.

Wagner Jr. and Vikingo tussle against the ropes, Omos clocks the champion with a right hand. Vikingo connects with another 450 Splash and gets the winning pinfall.

AAA Tag Team Championship: Pagano & Psycho Clown (C) vs. The War Raiders

The bell rings and the War Raiders attempt to rush the champions, only to get sent through the middle ropes and taken out by Pagano and Psycho Clown with synchronized dives.

Back in the ring, Psycho Clown and Erik are the legal men. Clown is sent to the outside by Erik, who tags out to Ivar, and splashes from the apron onto Clown on the floor. Erik tags back in and the challengers continue to wear Psycho Clown down.

Erik prevents Psycho Clown from reaching Pagano, tags Ivar back in for a double team, goes for the cover but only for a two-count. Ivar takes Psycho Clown into the corner and rocks him with back elbows. Clown comes back with a flying lariat to leave both men down in the middle of the ring. Ivar tags to Erik and Psycho Clown tags to Pagano.

Pagano bounces back off the ropes from an Irish whip and hits a back elbow to drop Erik. Goes to the ropes for a flying Codebreaker. Pagano goes outside the ring and hits Ivar with a tornado DDT to the floor. Back in the ring, he drops Erik with a Emerald Flowsion and goes for the cover, only for the two-count.

Pagano tags out to Psycho Clown as Erik tags out to Ivar. Clown takes Ivar out and delivers a tope to take out Erik on the outside. Back in the ring and Psycho Clown connects with a Code Red for another near-fall.

Psycho Clown tags out to Pagano, hits the Psycho Driver to Ivar, Pagano follows up with a leg drop. Psycho Clown follows that up with a frog splash as Pagano goes for the cover. Erik breaks it at two.

Pagano takes out Erik with a senton to the outside of the ring. Ivar goes for a shot at Pagano, who kicks his arm into Psycho Clown. He runs at Ivar, Ivar sidesteps and Pagano goes into Psycho Clown once more.

The War Raiders connect with their DTM finisher, both go for the cover at the same time and get the winning pinfall.

After the match, Psycho Clown is incensed by Pagano. He pushes him, then Pagano pushes him back. Psycho Clown rips off the outer layer of his mask to reveal the musculature beneath. Pagano walks away. Erik and Ivar attack Psycho Clown from behind as Pagano stays on the outside, considering whether he should go back or not.

He turns away defiantly, making his choice. Psycho Clown and Pagano are done.

Mask vs. Mask: El Grande Americano vs. The Original El Grande Americano

Before the match even begins, the Original El Grande Americano (OG Americano) smashes a guitar across the back of El Grande Americano (Americano Bravo).

OG Americano continues to beat down on Americano Bravo as the starting bell rings. But now Americano Bravo is coming back with a series of right hands to raucous cheers. OG Americano comes back to similarly raucous boos. Now the dueling chants begin as both Americanos go back and forth.

Americano Bravo drops OG Americano with a vertical suplex, gets dropped on the apron with a clothesline but still manages to rally for a tope. Now they are fighting at ringside, OG throwing Bravo into the ringpost.

Bravo comes back again with a Death Valley driver to the floor. He goes under the ring and pulls out a table to a cheer from the crowd. As he is setting it up, however, OG Americano runs Americano Bravo down and goes for the steel steps, pulling them out of position.

OG Americano starts smashing Americano Bravo’s face into the steps, then he climbs them as he looks for an Olympic Slam off of them to the floor. He connects and throws Americano Bravo into the ring, and now he looks to rip the mask off.

Americano Bravo’s mask is partially ripped from the right eye now, but he gets OG Americano on the apron with an Air Raid Crash through the table set up on the outside.

Americano Bravo goes for a running enzuigiri but gets caught into an attempted ankle lock. It doesn’t hold as OG opts instead to drop Bravo with a German suplex. OG throws Bravo over the guard rail and launches a desk chair at him, followed this time by a steel chair.

OG Americano brings Americano Bravo back to ringside with a suplex over the guard rail. He dumps him back in the ring, continuing to punch down at the exposed face. Americano Bravo now has a cut above the eye that OG is pounding directly into.

Americano Bravo comes back with wild hands halted by OG Americano’s receipts, followed by an exploder suplex for the two-count.

OG Americano seats Americano Bravo on the top rope, connecting with a belly-to-back suplex back down to the ring. He rises to his feet first, clocking Americano Bravo, who defiantly calls for more. OG goes to oblige, gets caught and rocked with multiple chops. Americano Bravo follows that up with a blockbuster and goes for the cover, only getting a two-count.

Americano Bravo now lighting up OG Americano’s chest with overhand chops, taking the fight to the top rope himself and ripping at the mask. OG Americano’s mask is also now ripped.

On the outside of the ring, OG runs at Bravo, gets caught and dropped face-first onto the steel steps. Americano Bravo follows that up with a dropkick against the steps. Back in the ring and it’s Bravo with the advantage, mounting OG and raining down right hands. He continues to rip at the mask and punch until the OG is busted open and leaking like a faucet.

Americano Bravo goes back to the outside and procures three steel chairs from beneath the ring. He goes to wedge one in the corner of the ring. With time to recover, OG Americano comes back with a German suplex while Bravo has a chair in-hand.

OG grabs a chair, swings and misses. Bravo swings back, clattering chair against chair against face before going for the cover. But Los Americanos Hermanos emerge at ringside to break up the fall and drop Americano Bravo through the announcer’s desk.

They dump him back in the ring as OG Americano climbs to the top rope, connecting with a diving headbutt and going for the cover. But Americano Bravo kicks out to survive with his mask – for now.

Los Americanos run down the ramp to equalize the threat posed by Americanos Hermanos, brawling with them back up the ramp. Pete Dunne gets a kendo stick to batter his contemporaries as Tyler Bate ascends the balcony, jumping from it to take the Hermanos out.

OG Americano is distracted by a member of the crowd, allowing Americano Bravo to take him out. But OG comes back with a rolling Liger kick. Someone is in the ring under a mask, smashing a guitar over the back of OG Americano. They reveal themselves to be Pimpinela Escarlata, allowing Americano Bravo to get back into the affair and go for a cover. But OG still manages to kick out.

Americano Bravo goes back underneath the ring and finds a bullrope. Back in the ring looking to use it but OG responds with a low-blow, making use of the bullrope himself to whip Bravo repeatedly.

OG uses the rope for leverage over Bravo and drops him with a stomp onto a chair. He goes for the cover but still Americano Bravo manages to kick out.

OG Americano doesn’t let up and continues to use the rope to choke his opponent. Andrea Bazarte comes down through the crowd and begins to encourage Americano Bravo, getting the attention of the OG who goes down to ringside to jaw at her. She shows him a ticket, confirming she can be here.

Americano Bravo makes use of the distraction to whip OG Americano and bring him back to the ring. He drops him onto the chair now with what looked like a Sister Abigail DDT, goes for the cover but still OG manages to kick out at the count of two.

Both men spent in the middle of the ring, exchanging rights and lefts from their knees. They both rise to their feet as the exchange continues. Americano Bravo runs at OG and gets thrust into the turnbuckles with a release belly-to-belly. He goes for the cover but Americano Bravo still kicks out.

OG Americano drags Americano Bravo to the corner and smashes a steel chair against his legs and ringpost. He locks in an ankle lock in the middle of the ring. Americano Bravo rolls out of it and locks in his own submission. This time OG Americano rolls through and gets the ankle lock again, dropping to the mat to wrench further.

Americano Bravo looks like he might tap. Thinks better of it. He fights back to his feet and slams OG Americano, goes to run back at him but his ankle gives way.

OG Americano drops the straps and delivers Chaos Theory, bridges for the pin but Americano Bravo kicks out again. 

OG Americano goes to run at Americano Bravo, who cleverly drops to send the OG clattering into the ringpost. Bravo brings OG back to his feet, slouched over his shoulder, dials up with two rebounds off the rope to connect with a flying headbutt.

He goes for the cover; one, two, three.

The Original El Grande Americano will be unmasked.

El Grande Americano def. The Original El Grande Americano via Pinfall

The OG asks for a moment to address the crowd. He says that he put on the mask as part of a journey to learn Lucha Libre in order to overcome the luchadors he hated. But in that journey he found something profound with the Lucha fans. He says that with all the honor in the world he can admit he couldn’t overcome the Mexican spirit.

He addresses Americano Bravo, and says that he should understand he will always be the Original El Grande Americano. But after tonight, he can say that he is the only El Grande Americano.

The OG removes his mask, revealing Chad Gable bloodied and beaten. The crowd begins to chant his name. Blinking the blood out of his eyes, he recalls wrestling in the Olympic games and his 13-year pro wrestling career, introducing his family in the ring.

He says he doesn’t know when or how, but Chad Gable will be back in AAA one day. He hands his mask to the only El Grande Americano, and says it belongs to him now.

El Grande Americano enjoys a moment with Bazarte, kissing her and gingerly dancing with her in the middle of the ring to the tune of Cielito Lindo.
