Jac Caglianone ready for Kauffman debut in Royals-Yankees rematch

One note before we start, guys, um, he’s due with the coach on the field pretty quick. Oh I Yeah, how it, how’s it feel to be, uh, in Compton Stadium and about to make your home. Um, and I was talking with Joel and I told him I’m more excited for this than I was for the actual debut itself. Um, just excited to play in front of these fans. Why are you more excited, um, and what goes into that excitement? and and then you know back in the same. It’s home, you know, it’s, you know, hopefully. Be here for *** long time and you know, grow that relationship with them and. Just getting their money’s worth. What if people told you about Kansas City and playing in in the stadium? Um, outfield is gonna be *** lot bigger than, uh, most parks, so. Hence why I gotta be out here and pretty soon you got to get *** feel for what they truly mean by that. Um, that they said, you know, the environment here is great. You know, you got great fans, very loyal, so, um, super excited about that and Yeah, really just has to be *** bigger ballpark you get acclimated to it. Yeah, do you plan to take *** moment to soak everything in or you just laser focused on your job? Focus on the job. I mean, I’ll. I’ll soak it in and hopefully after *** winter night, so. You, uh, friends and family with you on the road. What do you got here tonight? Yeah, I got *** good group, um, more friends from back home, made the trip out, so, um, them family’s back, uh, for today. So, um, yeah, I got *** good group. Yeah, just *** weekend, but I mean, how much more settled do you feel if, if you do feel settled than, than you did *** week ago on Tuesday in Saint Louis? Yeah, definitely *** lot more, um, you know, being at. The place I’ll call home, so got acclimated, been here. *** few times in the past, you know, for signing and what we did with, uh, this past year’s draft class and everything, so definitely more aware of my bearings here, so I feel good. And what you can you quantify what you feel most settled in by over the last week in terms of just what you’ve gotten to do and how, how, how much just this brief experience has gotten you under your belt? Yeah, I mean, I’d definitely say the locker room, just the guys in there. Everybody’s super supportive, you know, so. Group of like-minded individuals. Everybody wants to win. Everybody wants to make sure everybody’s on the same page and uh feeling good for it. So that’s probably the biggest thing. Um, looked around for places to live, and get out of ***, of *** hotel for *** little while. Um, that was really it. Went to *** card shop just. Chill after I did, yeah, I got, I found, I mean, I found *** few like Royals cards. I got like *** Reagans from the All-Star game, got *** Massey rookie, uh, *** couple bobs, got *** Bob and Sal then like celebrating, so snag those. They did not, no. What’s the job. Uh, sports and cards, or or art of sport, art of sport. Do you, do you know any guys in that Yankees clubhouse? Uh, I do. I know, uh, I know Volpe, um, their strength coach Larry Atago, he, uh, Actually, he used to be *** trainer in Tampa, uh, where I worked out in high school and now he’s. Full time with the Yankees, so I’ve known him for quite some time, so I’m excited to, I’m excited to see them. I understand some people in your family are Yankees fans as well. Yeah, my grandpa’s from New York, so he grew up big Yankee fan. Um, unfortunately, like he won’t be here to matter anything, but. Yeah. Yeah, I’m sure I’ll have it on the TV tonight. if you ask any of your teammates, you know, for advice on your first home game and, and what they remember about their debuts in Coffman. No, I’d definitely be smart to do. *** lot of Royals fans are obviously really excited to see you play. Can I have you kind of felt that love from the fan base, and what’s it kind of like to, to see that energy out of them? It’s great. I mean, Rave was telling me he went to Dick’s and they had some stuff up there, um. I guess like shirts or something of me. uh, so I’m definitely feeling the love, so I’m super excited to just be *** part of it. Yeah got *** non Major League baseball question. It’s been *** little uh. Controversy, not only people don’t maybe like how college baseball is looking some showboating and things like that. You’re not very far removed from that making the World Series, the SEC gets *** little weird, I guess sometimes. What have you noticed difference wise? I mean. I guess it’s not the way anyone acts up here. Yeah, I mean, I believe that there’s *** time and place for everything, you know, I think some of these guys. are getting *** little too upset online about players’ actions. I mean, it’s *** super regional. Some of these guys are never gonna play baseball again after this year. It’s like, do whatever you want, have fun with it, enjoy it. I mean, obviously keep it respectful towards your dugout and that type of stuff for sure, but um, no, I’m, I’m guilty of it. I played fiery in college. I mean you could ask India, even India did the same thing, um. That’s kind of how it goes, you know, I’m not gonna condone anything, but. That’s how the moment’s gonna kind of take you that’ll. So be it. It’s *** little different professional though, right? Yeah, yeah, for sure, um. I mean, Some major leagues, so guys are definitely gonna be more professional about how they go about their business and stuff, so definitely taking that into account for sure. You said Bobby gives you *** rule every day. What was the rule today for you? None yet because Bob, we’ve been kind of doing our own things he’s in the infielders meetings and stuff. I’m unfortunately not *** part of those right now. Yeah, I know it’s only been *** week, but uh how’s your approach at the plate change? Yeah, really just focusing on seeing the ball up, you know, these guys. If you give them any kind of inkling towards any weakness, they’re gonna try and exploit it. So, um, got *** little bit of *** taste of that in Saint Louis, um. And now it’s just kind of one of those things that you keep in the back of your mind, be mindful of it, and know your own reports, how guys have been trying to get you out, um, has really played *** big role in that too. OK, time for 2 more. Actually, I think you’re just the 2nd royal joining Bo Jackson to have *** 4 hit game within their 1st 6 games. What’s it like, you know, just even being in the same company as Bo. Pretty surreal. I mean, it’s Bo Jackson, you know, he’s probably the best athlete to, to ever live, so that’s, that’s some good company. Check related to the Royals supporting you, there’s *** lot of talk in the line of arguments about what nickname to call you. Do you have any officials? What’s your favorite that you’ve heard or *** favorite nickname that you had? Um, I mean, I’m simple. I like kegs. All right, thanks guys. Thank you.
